Former President of the Soviet Union

Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, who passed away on 30 August 2022, was President of the Moscow-based International Foundation for Socio-Economic and Political Studies (Gorbachev Foundation). He was also President of Green Cross International. Mr. Gorbachev served as President of the Soviet Union from 1985 to 1991 and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.
