The War That Must Never Be Fought: Dilemmas of Nuclear Deterrence

Ambassador James Goodby, a founding member of GSI’s Nonpartisan Security Group (formerly Bipartisan Security Group), joined former Secretary of State George Shultz as editors of The War That Must Never Be Fought: Dilemmas of Nuclear Deterrence, a series of articles comprising a “dialogue that is taking place in this book between well informed and well placed experts on nuclear policies from many parts of the world,” giving a fresh look at global nuclear deterrence in today’s climate, from the U.S., Japan, Korea, the Middle East and others.

The final chapter proposes a new solution for the nonproliferation treaty review.
