Global Leadership for Sustainable Planet

The session “Global Leadership for Sustainable Planet” was held on 21st April, 2020.

The speakers, including Kevin Cassidy, Director, International Labour Organization—U.S.; Donato Kiniger-Pasigli, Vice President, World Academy of Art & Science; Alberto Zucconi, Chairman of the Board, World Academy of Art & Science, Jonathan Granoff, President, Global Security Institute, and Carol Carter, President, GlobalMindED discussed issues related to the psycho-social, cultural, economic and political impact of the pandemic.

The session highlighted that as the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to activities around the world, it also gave the planet time to breathe and ponder upon new forms of leadership and human development by respecting nature, natural laws and planetary boundaries. The speakers clearly indicated that humanity is inadequately prepared to deal with asymmetric shocks of the nature of COVID-19. Hence, a new momentum and leadership will be required to come out of this situation in the coming future.
