GSI President Jonathan Granoff met today with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Bahrain. From the website of the Foreign Ministry:
“The Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Dosari, received at his office in the Ministry’s General Court today, the international lecturer and President of the Global Security Institute in Washington, DC., Jonathan Granoff.
“The Assistant Foreign Minister praised the lectures of Mr. Granoff, including those related to the culture of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons in the world, stressing that such lectures contribute to enhancing international peace and security. He highlighted the efforts of Mr. Granoff in raising awareness on the danger of nuclear weapons, and noted the contributions of the Global Security Institute in Washington, DC.
“The Assistant Foreign Minister affirmed Bahrain’s support to international peace and security, and its call on the international community to make the Middle East a zone free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, in accordance with the 1995 resolution on the Middle East and the Final Document of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference 2010. He also stressed the need to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to preserve the security of the world and achieve further development.
“For his part, the President of the Global Security Institute praised the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve international peace and security, noting the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in international conferences and its support to the principles and goals of the United Nations’ Charter.”
Jonathan Granoff is the President of the Global Security Institute, a representative to United Nations of the World Summits of Nobel Peace Laureates, a former Adjunct Professor of International Law at Widener University School of Law, and Senior Advisor to the Committee on National Security American Bar Association International Law Section.
