A Very Special Invitation
The first World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize laureates was held in Rome in 1999, co-founded by President Mikhail Gorbachev and then Mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni. Over the years, the summits have been attended by President Mikhail Gorbachev, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, President Shimon Peres, President Lech Walesa, President Jimmy Carter, President José Ramos-Horta, Dr. Shirin Ebadi, Lord David Trimble, Professor John Hume, President Kim Dae Yung, President Juan Manuel Santos and other globally recognized Nobel laureates, as well as artists include George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Peter Gabreal, Bono and others.
Global Security Institute has been an associated partner of the Summit nearly since its inception. I am proud to serve as Special Representative to the United Nations for the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.
This year’s summit, the 20th anniversary of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, will be held September 19-22, in Mérida, Mexico. It will be attended by 21 Nobel Peace Prize laureates and leaders of Nobel Peace Prize laureate organizations.
We are excited to be able to invite you to join us for this special event in Mérida for a truly unique experience and the opportunity to interact with some of our world’s true peace makers.
